I am Julie Burdette and I am a student of psychology and a mother of 4. I would like to introduce you to some wonderful activities and toys that can stimulate the growth of your 6-24 month old child. These activities stimulate growth on all levels of the spectrum including physical, social emotional, and cognitive development. I will also inform you of some of the exciting milestones you should expect to see as your infant transforms into a toddler. Play is an essential part of a child's development, so get playing!

Importance of PLAY

Play develops a range of skills and is one of the best ways of learning. Play engages children in activities that promote development in every area including cognitive learning, language, creativity, social-emotional, physical, and understanding the world around them. Children see playing as fun, and therefore are eager to participate. Directed play can prove to be one of the best tools parents have to help their children learn about, and succeed in the world in which they live.
